Defacto - Content Writer (1-3 yrs)
Role Description :
- Produce engaging, industry-leading editorial and thought leadership content, to support marketing and other strategic initiatives. Content includes web pages, white papers, case studies, blogs, videos, presentations etc.
- Collaborate with internal and external resources (designers & developers) to generate new content, and identify creative ways to re-purpose existing content for various channels.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Writes and posts content online; maintains company Web pages and blog(s)
- Write product documentation, product catalogue, technical paper write- ups
- Contributes to/updates the company's social sites like Linkedin, Facebook and Twitter
- Helps develop & document procedures to manage Web content
- Moderates content as it is contributed to the website by external sources
- Helps plan and implement social marketing campaigns for specific marketing goals
- Monitors social media outlets and responds on topics related to company/industry
- Keeps up-to-date with best practices in writing for the web, social media trends, web usability, web design, and business/industry trends
- Coordinate content creation & publishing of company newsletters (internal or external)
- Prepare internal and external communications including announcements, press releases, quarterly corporate reports, presentations, technical documentation, sales support, etc as needed.
Key Technical Skills & Knowledge :
- Minimum 1-3 year of experience as a technical writer, editor, or content strategist, with a focus on software or workflow applications
- Excellent proofreading, editing, and communication skills, both written and verbal
- The candidate should be able to produce high quality, unique and engaging content
- Basic understanding of software development (SDLC) and Document Development (DDLC)
- Sound knowledge of Technical Writing principles, standards and methods.
- Advanced knowledge in software: Microsoft Office Suite (including SharePoint, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint)
Skills Required :
- Proven experience of technical editing/writing in a similar role.
- Ability to be self-directed and effective working independently, yet equally comfortable contributing in a global team environment.
- Ability to interact with different business groups and scope documentation assignments.
- Precise documentation and clear communication skills.
- Passion for Excellence and quality.
- Strong attention to detail, grammar, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and assignments
