Dealer Manager - Sales - Industrial Equipment (10-13 yrs)
Job Summary:
The Dealer Manager for Material Handling Equipment (MHE) will be responsible for managing and expanding the dealer network to drive sales and revenue growth. This role includes developing relationships with existing dealers, identifying potential new dealers, implementing sales strategies, and ensuring consistent, high-quality customer service through the dealer network.
Key Responsibilities:
Dealer Network Development:
- Identify and onboard new dealers in target markets to expand the company's MHE market presence.
- Evaluate and select prospective dealers based on performance, customer reach, and market potential.
- Set up dealership agreements, defining clear terms and expectations.
Sales Strategy & Target Achievement:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet regional and national sales targets for MHE products.
- Monitor dealer performance regularly, analyzing sales data, and setting goals to ensure alignment with company targets.
- Provide ongoing support to dealers to maximize sales, including training, product information, and promotional resources.
Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with dealers, acting as the primary point of contact.
- Conduct regular visits to dealer locations to ensure alignment with brand standards and monitor customer experience.
- Address and resolve any issues or challenges faced by dealers, ensuring timely solutions and customer satisfaction.
Product Knowledge & Training:
- Conduct training sessions for dealers on product specifications, features, and benefits, enabling them to sell MHE products effectively.
- Keep dealers informed about new products, industry trends, and best practices in the MHE sector.
Market Analysis & Strategy Development:
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to adjust dealer strategies accordingly.
- Gather feedback from the dealer network and provide insights to internal teams for product and service improvements.
- Develop localized sales strategies based on market demand and dealer capabilities.
Reporting & Performance Analysis:
- Prepare regular performance reports, tracking sales volumes, targets, and growth across the dealer network.
- Use data analytics to identify trends, growth opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Conduct monthly or quarterly business reviews with dealers to assess performance and set future targets.
Financial & Inventory Management:
- Ensure that dealers manage inventory levels effectively, meeting demand while minimizing overstock.
- Oversee dealer financials related to sales targets, credit terms, and pricing compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in sales, dealer management, or business development, preferably in the MHE or industrial equipment industry.
- Strong knowledge of material handling products and market dynamics.
- Proven ability to achieve sales targets and manage partner relationships effectively.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel extensively to meet with dealers and attend industry events.
