Creative Content Writer - Advertising Agency (5-12 yrs)
Responsibilities :
- Contextualize a variety of content types for different kinds of client consumption, tailoring the writing style to the relevant audience.
- Take existing content that is audience-agnostic or written for one particular audience type and contextualize it for different audiences according to well-defined processes and standards.
- Tasks include writing, reviewing, formatting and ensuring the integrity of content; organizing and structuring outline; inviting peer and management reviews (as needed), and responding to comments; checking facts and accuracy.
- Work with different stakeholders to plan priorities for work, timelines and research collections.
- Suggest improvements in process and procedures to optimise delivery.
- Ensure content complies with specified editorial style and quality standards.
- Revise and review draft content for grammar, accuracy, clarity, readability, consistency, and coherence, especially in response to feedback.
- Submit material for publication in the required and expected format.
- Write with the reader or audience in mind.
- Work cross-functionally with all other teams/departments to improve the overall workflow process, procedures and systems.
- Undertake continuous, job-related training to maintain writing quality levels and improve individual skills.
- Maintain an awareness of new terms or phrases coming into popular usage in your subject area(s).
Qualification and Work Experience :
- Three to six years' experience as a professional writer or in a comparable field.
- Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related fields.
- Experience in developing content for an international organization preferred
Desired Skills :
- Excellent written English that can be adapted to a specific audience, subject and delivery medium.
- Ability to pick out the key points from raw material and organise it into a focused, logical document.
- Ability to express complex and technical ideas in simple, accessible English.
- Knowledge of grammar and styles - including AP style.
- Analytical, journalism and research skills.
- Ability to manage several assignments at once and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Well-versed in Microsoft Office applications (primarily Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and in Google Suite
- Exceptional attention to detail and capable of delivering error-free content
- Strong communicator (verbal and written)
- Ability to perform gracefully under pressure and provide guidance on inflexible and shifting deadlines
- Superior customer service ethic and interpersonal skills
- Ability to be an organized self-starter and multitask
