Job purpose :
The Manager, Content is responsible for overseeing a team of Assessment Specialists who create, acquire and maintain content for PowerSchool products, used in schools in the US and Canada. The Manager, Content is expected to build a team that develops high quality, rigorous content that is aligned to state, national, and global academic standards.
Duties And Responsibilities :
- Develop, execute and manage Content Development Department vision.
- Assess and maintain content products developed by PowerSchool and third parties.
- Oversee the process management of the department including using best practices and appropriate tools.
- Direct and supervise a team of Assessment Specialists.
- Organize and establish processes and goals for the Assessment Specialists team.
- Evaluate and hold Assessment Specialists accountable for job performance and expectations.
- Research and share knowledge of state, national and global academic standards.
- Manage content banks including content development, alignment, maintenance, procurement, and quality assurance.
- Train and manage contracted content developers.
- Communicate with and support internal and external clients as it pertains to assessment development.
- Respond to client inquiries, comments, and suggestions via email, phone, webinars, etc.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, standards and expectations.
- Develop and deliver content related professional development to staff and clients.
- Contribute ideas toward future content product offerings.
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Complete other assigned duties as necessary
Qualifications Include
- 5+ years curriculum and assessment design in the Ed Tech industry preferred.
- Master's Degree in K-12 education preferred.
- General knowledge of assessment item development.
- Knowledgeable of state, national, and global academic standards.
- Thorough understanding of Bloom's Taxonomy and Webb's DOK.
- Understanding of instructional and assessment best practices.
- Exhibit personnel leadership skills and intelligent decisiveness in tense situations.
- Strong organizational and communication.
