Content Lead - Digital Publishing Platform (2-4 yrs)
Roles and Responsibilities:
Editorial Planning
- Plan the content pipeline in conjunction with the senior management team and in line with the editorial guidelines and policies
- Execution of the content calendar to ensure publication of the requisite number of articles on a monthly basis
- Track article outreach, views and effectiveness in order to continuously calibrate the content strategy and calendar
- Content creation
- Writing original and relevant stories, articles and listicles pertaining to sports and fitness through conducting research and interviews as required
- Combining various pieces of content from primary/secondary research and bringing out the trend on topical issues on a regular basis
- Create promotional and SEO content based on ongoing business requirements
- Content sourcing
- Source original and relevant articles from our existing network of freelance writers
- Copy-edit all sourced content and correct for spelling/grammatical errors, check for plagiarism using available tools and ensure compliance with editorial policies
- Manage and build the freelancers- network on an ongoing basis
- Content Publishing:
- Publish and schedule final copies on WordPress while ensuring correct formatting
- Coordinate with marketing and design teams to illustrate articles and obtain relevant images as required
- Ensure all-around consistency (style, fonts, images and tone) in all articles published
- Maintain and follow best SEO practices
Requirements:
- 2-4 years of experience as a content writer, preferably at a digital publishing platform
- An avid sports and fitness buff with great communication and writing skills
- Strong inter-personal skills, since you will be managing various freelancers and are also expected to work closely with the design, marketing and senior management teams
- Familiarity with WordPress and a basic understanding of SEO. Knowledge of Google webmaster would be an added advantage
