1. POSITION(S) VACANT : Consultant-Communications (Buildings and Communities), Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy, New Delhi
2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:
Incorporated in 2008, the Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE) is an industry led, membership based Indian non-profit organisation, that drives energy efficiency markets and policies in India.
AEEE is the only organisation in India that works on creating awareness about energy efficiency as a resource. The organization aims to transform India into a global leader in energy efficiency, by reducing the country's energy intensity. AEEE is working towards making India a globally competitive and environmentally sustainable economy and one of the most attractive markets for companies, with the best available energy-efficient technologies. The organization also provides a convening platform for Government and Industry to engage in a constructive dialogue to design and implement effective and impactful policies.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Program Lead- Buildings & Communities, the Consultant-Communications (Buildings and Communities), shall be responsible for developing program related content for the Buildings and Communities team. S/he shall be accountable for creating content for various mix of forms like Technical Content Writing, Proposals, Blogs, Reports and acting as resource person to drive program related communications.
The Consultant-Communications (Buildings and Communities) shall also be responsible for acting as bridge between the AEEE technical/ research and communication teams. The incumbent will also be responsible for providing program support for Solar Decathlon India.
Key Deliverables :
(1) Conducting in-depth research on industry-related topics in order to develop original content
(2) Promoting external-facing communication from the programs of the Buildings and Communities team
(3) Contributing to the development of social media activities and campaigns across multiple channels for the Buildings and Communities team
(4) Assisting in improving content and design of the web content of the programs of the Buildings and Communities team on the AEEE website and ensure regular updating
(5) Assisting the Buildings and Communities team in bringing out technical reports and communications material on a regular basis including supervising development of those
(6) Providing support for the Solar Decathlon India Competition on the communications and research front
(7) Developing short stories to convey the impact of AEEE policies and Solar Decathlon India on the respective target audience such as academia, government, funders, member companies, the private sector, and other key stakeholders
(8) Handling an apt mix of all forms: Technical Content Writing/ Proposal Writing/ Video Scripts
(9) Developing content for blogs, articles, marketing collaterals, podcasts and the company website
(10) Acting as a go-between for the AEEE technical/ research and communication teams
(11) Proofreading content for errors and inconsistencies
(12) Editing and polishing existing content to improve readability
(13) Pro-actively contribute to the overall development of AEEE and Solar Decathlon India
(14) Working with designers to create collaterals that enhance AEEE'S messaging
(15) Helping in maintaining AEEE content repository.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification:
Applicants must be post-graduates in Communication, Journalism, or a related discipline.
Experience :
(1) At least seven years of experience in copy writing, with a public relations agency, energy sector company, or industry-focused, non-profit organization;
(2) Experience hosting convenings, building strategy and mediating collaboration amongst multiple stakeholders
(3) Prior experience in a communications role in the social sector shall be preferred.
Skills and Competencies :
(1) Team player who effectively integrates, motivates and builds relationships with cross-functional team members (local or remote), sponsors, key stakeholders, executives, and other individuals or organizations involved with or affected by the project
(2) Good project management skills with an ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines;
(3) A strong background in climate issues and an understanding of the Indian energy efficiency landscape
(4) Ability to build and develop strong relationships, apart from possessing a strong network of connections within the media industry
(5) Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
(6) Must be a confident communicator and presenter;
(7) Strong writing skills with a proven track record of writing in different platforms for a multitude of audiences
(8) Ability to work well under pressure and adapt quickly to change.
5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.
