Role Overview
As a Business Development Associate/Manager, you will reach out to potential customers, generate leads, and guide them through the onboarding process to Cogoport's platform. You will drive customer acquisition, manage key relationships, and ensure the smooth execution of shipments. You will play a key role in growing the business through strategic sales efforts, customer retention, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Cold Calling & Lead Generation: Reach out to potential customers through calls to introduce Cogoport, understand their business needs, and generate leads for the sales pipeline.
Customer Profiling: Gather insights on customer pain points, shipment requirements, and
business challenges to tailor future interactions.
Customer Acquisition & Business Growth: Proactively identify new business
opportunities, reach out to potential customers and convert them into long-term clients by demonstrating the value of Cogoports solutions.
Managing Customer Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with
customers, ensuring a smooth shipment process from booking to delivery, and addressing
any issues that arise.
Customer Retention: Strategize and implement initiatives to improve customer retention, including offering personalised service and solutions tailored to customer needs.
Handling Inquiries & Complaints: Serve as the first point of contact for customers with inquiries or complaints. Work closely with internal teams to ensure timely and effective resolution.
End-to-End Shipment Coordination: Oversee critical shipments and ensure execution is flawless, ensuring customers are updated regularly on their shipment status.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with operations, finance, and other teams
KPIs:
Number of Calls Connected: The total number of successful cold calls made to potential customers, which helps measure outreach effectiveness.
Lead Generation: The number of potential customers who express interest or request further information about Cogoports services.
Number of Containers Booked: The total number of containers or shipments booked as a direct result of customer acquisition efforts.
Number of Transactions: Total number of successful customer transactions or bookings completed.
Revenue Generated: Total revenue generated from the sales made by the manager or sales targets met.
Average Deal Size: The average value of bookings made by the manager, helping track the quality of sales.
New Business Acquired: The number of new customers converted and onboarded from prospects.
Lead Conversion Rate: The percentage of leads converted into customers who book containers or shipments.
Skills and Qualifications :
Education : Graduate or equivalent with 2+ years of experience in sales or business development focused on logistics or supply chain only.
Industry Expertise : Proven track record in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain, with B2B client management.
Sales Achievement : Consistently met and exceeded sales targets, handling high-value accounts and long sales cycles.
Communication & Negotiation : Strong communication and relationship-building skills with fluency in Hindi and English.
Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, efficiently managing multiple tasks.
Problem-Solving: Proactive in solving client issues and ensuring customer retention.
