Job Description and responsibilities:
- Identifying new sales leads
- Pitching products and/or services
- Maintaining fruitful relationships with existing customers
- A business development professional has three primary responsibilities:
1. Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction
2. Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
3. Arrange business meetings with prospective clients
- Promote the company's products/services addressing or predicting clients- objectives
- Keep records of sales, invoices
- Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support
- Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers
When it comes to generating leads, day-to-day duties typically include:
- Researching organisations and individuals online (Professional networking sites-LinkedIn) to
identify new leads and potential new markets
- Contacting potential clients via email or phone to establish rapport and set up meetings
- Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives
- Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events
This role involves 50% travelling (Meeting clients in personal once meeting is scheduled).
