About: CMO (Chief Marketing Officer)
We are currently looking for a CMO to play a key role in one of very exciting, backed by great funding and promoters, E-commerce venture, based out of Gurgaon
The Company is a leading e-commerce platform for the curation of highly desirable goods for purchase (B2C) combined with an enabling platform (B2B) for merchants to sell their products. The company has been able to crack the product market fit for both B2B and B2C business models to ensure sustained long-term profitable growth.
We are looking for a very experienced Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) who can 'hit the ground running' as the executive responsible for all aspects of the company's marketing including: brand building and awareness,, and implementing all the marketing strategies online (customer acquisition, partnerships) and offline (events, PR and partnerships)
Roles & Responsibility - your tasks will include:
- Increase Customer Acquisition
- End to end responsibility for Organisations Branding & Marketing (including managing agencies)
- Responsible for SEO & SEM (with existing team)
- Custodian for offline/ online marketing & branding
- Responsible for Marketing Analytics (India)
- Custodian of Marketing budget (India)
- Improvement of the company's marketing plan
- Overseeing market research and analysis of the competition
- Supervising the management and research teams on product development
- Overseeing the CRM process.
- Handling public relations and corporate communications
- Developing new and enhancing existing business relationships
- Providing leadership in the design and production of all aspects of visual marketing needs.
Job Purpose:
- Develop marketing plan and drive business development. Initiate strategic partnerships with local platforms and distributors. Oversee online/offline tactical marketing/sales and brand-building campaigns. Drive business by building and expanding user base and activity.
- Explore and build new business opportunities. But more importantly we need someone who is a self-motivated individual with a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
- Vision: Devise a comprehensive Vision, roadmap, and marketing plan for all sides of the business, and continuously work to ensure it is implemented.
- Work with other members of executive leadership team to ensure all plans are properly executed across departments.
- Brand Building: Create from the ground up a unique brand that reflects both B2B and B2C elements, with responsibility for overseeing all elements of imagery, messaging, and associated marketing collateral related to it. Responsibility for overall PR, Events, and other communications strategies.
- Utilize understanding of consumer insights and worldwide trends in order to identify key issues and opportunities for profitable brand growth.
- Identify and prioritize brand-building opportunities by utilizing data-driven insights (e.g., Nielsen, internal cross-functional reports, consumer research reports, competitive analysis, etc.).
What Experience:
CMO: You will need to have proven experience in formulating and implementing brand marketing via SEO, website analytics, social media, pay-per-click, ad revenue strategies, publishing and offline communication. Also required to have extensive experience in understanding customer preferences and offline retail marketing (radio, TV, print etc.) Work references will be needed.
What Skills:
CMO: You will possess good operational knowledge of Google Analytics and other website analytical applications. You will have social media, pay-per click, SEO/copywriting, communication, publishing, banner and video ad marketing skills. Required to have extensive network in offline retail (connections with large 5 agencies for print, TV, radio etc.). You will be passionate, self-motivated, hard worker, eager to succeed, flexible, a problem-solver and team player.

The Successful individual will have
- Relevant experience working in a senior level in marketing in a fast-paced environment, start-up and E-commerce experience is ideal.
- Track record in marketing successful mobile products or online shopping.
- Skilled at forming new partnerships.
- Entrepreneurial, creative, resourceful and goal-oriented.
- Communication and marketing management skills.
- Critical thinking ability for high level planning, analyzing and problem solving.
- Thrive within an entrepreneurial culture and ideally have previously guided a start-up through the growth curve.
- Prior hands-on experience in SEM/ SEO/ PPC/ Affiliate marketing/ viral marketing/ guerrilla marketing/ social media marketing/ display/ offline marketing/ google analytics/ marketing analytics - SAS etc in e-commerce setups.
An Ideal for this Position:
- MBA from a notable institution preferred.
- 12 to15+ years of experience within a senior level marketing role, preferably within the E-commerce Industry, Start-up
- History of building a successful and recognized brand, and proven experience building a renowned marketing function.
- Track record of developing comprehensive and highly successful marketing and business development strategies
- Impeccable communication and presentation skills.
- Ensuring the successful day to day management of the team
- Responsible for overseeing the entire marketing effort across all media
