Job Title : Category Manager
Job Purpose :
- A Category Manager is responsible to manage the performance of a category of products, overall promotion of the product category to maximize consumer appeal, drive business growth and market share of the assigned category with strong product, competition & consumer analytics.
Key Responsibilities :
Strategic :
- Co-own the business metrics, refine the business model, understand where opportunities are and create a viable business to service them
Financial :
- Drive business metrics for the category in a sustainable manner
Technical :
- Identify the customer buying patterns and put together a comprehensive strategy for the category
- Work with New Product Development team to identify new products for the category and support NPD team in the launch of new products
- Create innovative marketing programs, go to market strategies, campaigns and promotions across various channels, such as email marketing, events, online advertising, webinars, co-marketing with partners, blogs for the assigned categories.
- Drive specific initiatives and projects for Category growth
- Devise long-term development strategies for product categories
- Work with sales team to meet overall revenue objectives of the category
- Review the product range in the category and work with sales head to finalize the pricing strategy for products
- Plan and execute the marketing/event calendar while working with branding and trade marketing teams to maximize demand for the category
- Lead the ATL activities for the assigned categories
- Capture and analyze micro and macro trends related to geographies and SKUs for the category
- Work with the branding team and ensure optimal presence of the category in the market
- Monitor and improve the Category Revenue parameters across Geography, Product Mix and Channels
- Plan, create, track and improve customer cohorts and provide differentiated and targeted experiences suitable to their preferences
- Work with different stakeholders in Sales, Finance, Branding teams to execute Category strategies
Other :
- The work already being done by the employee currently, shall continue to be performed by the respective individual
- Undertake other activities and initiatives to meet business requirements as per the discretion of the directors and head of the department
