Business Development Role - Freight Forwarding Firm (1-5 yrs)
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Business Development Executive to join our team in the Freight Forwarding industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and prospecting new business opportunities through cold-calling and sales activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and prospect new business/clients via cold-calling and sales activities.
- Build and develop strong relationships with new and existing clients.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with clients to encourage up-selling and retention.
- Monitor the progress of the shipment until the final destination.
- Participate in contract setting and monitor customer payments.
- Take ownership of customer issues and follow through till resolution.
- Preparation of Daily Sales Reports (DSR) and updating shipment status to customers on a daily basis.
- Regularly attend team meetings.
- Submit need-based data to Manager.
- Quick response to emails.
- Resolve customer queries regarding shipments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
- Proven track record of 1-2 years in Freight Forwarding or a similar industry.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Goal-oriented with a focus on achieving sales targets.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite.
- Knowledge of freight forwarding processes and procedures is preferred.
