The Company

We offer a free group management and group communication application (mobile and desktop) that, while open to anyone, is built especially for people who need to build and interact with large (- 1,000 members) groups. We also solve a lot of problems that existing group management applications do not - e. g. sending messages only to a small cross-section of group members matching some criteria (that is just one example, and we have about 50 features like that that are both necessary and not available currently in any free app).

Our primary focus is on simplicity. While the app does myriad things (and will keep doing more), it should still be quite simple for someone to build a group on it in seconds and start performing all main operations from the get-go. The design should be such that people looking for specific features should discover them easily, and the rest should not get intimidated by a smorgasbord of features. Simplicity is a key business goal.

We also work quite hard on performance and security. Performance is critical given that billions of database records and terabytes of data keep accumulating in very short periods of time. It will be the main engineering challenge for us as we go ahead.

The company, run by an IIT-IIM graduate, is growing quite fast. We measure ourselves both by number of users and by number of messages each day, and the two metrics are accelerating very fast now. We are at a stage where we need a few brilliant people - both in technology and in business development - to take the company forward into hitting several million users in a year.

The Job

You will keep working with existing clients to figure out what will make them adopt the product more (send more and more messages through it), and also approach new prospects. You will also work on product development, to enhance the product based on client feedback and your own ideas.

This job requires outdoor travel. It also needs good technology skills.
