Biddano - Business Head - Sales & Marketing (10-15 yrs)
We are looking for a Business Head (Sales & Marketing) who will drive results by unleashing creativity and accountability in a performance-oriented culture among a group of diverse and talented individuals. Your experience with other fast-growing E-commerce & FMCG companies will help you craft efficient and effective systems for the entire organisation.
Responsibilities/Qualifications/Essential job Functions:
- Play a significant role in developing and implementing the company's long-term strategic plan including new product opportunities and other growth initiatives to meet the company's revenue and earnings targets.
- Create and execute a dynamic marketing and sales plan that will build the company into a dominant brand, including the development of a consistent message integrated across all programs, promotions, products, and services.
- Continuously monitor the pricing patterns within the market, checking the prices for the desired products regularly with respect to their competitiveness and value as perceived by the clients, deciding upon pricing from time to time on a need basis to ensure the products are sold with highest recoveries possible.
- Initiate market intelligence system to provide monthly information to Top Management on potential data, competitors- activities, new product opportunities.
- Identify, initiate and leverage partnership programs to build awareness of the company brand and drive incremental sales through alternative channels.
- Evolve policies for establishing a robust field force monitoring and people management, relationship management system in order to increase field force satisfaction and portfolio growth.
- Develop sales plans, strategies and policies with a view to increase/sustain market share and profitability.
- Have effective implementation and monitoring mechanisms to ensure achievement of the Sales plans and strategies.
- Formulate policies and guidelines for smooth functioning and satisfaction of channel partners like dealers, distributors and stockists.
- Scan the environment to understand competitor's activities, demand supply scenario, regulatory issues to formulate strategies for increasing market share.
- Develop segmentation and client relationship models that better identify targets and allow for more customized marketing programs.
- Direct a market research/ end-user insights function that will improve product development and new product introductions and guide the design effort, ensuring leading-edge, consumer-driven products and designs that meet manufacturing and cost goals.
- Lead the transformation of the company with an emphasis on superior quality in both products and services.
- Manage outside agency resources effectively, including advertising, public relations and corporate communication efforts to capitalize on brand presence opportunities.
Top candidates should have:
- Strong business and financial acumen and the ability to link marketing and sales strategy and results directly to overall business strategy and company financial goals.
- A history of successful brand management and equity building.
- The ability to develop a strategy from an in-depth analysis of customer insights.
- Proven success driving results and delivering a return on investment to the company.
- Comprehensive program development skills, from broad-reach advertising to highly targeted, direct marketing across all relevant marketing channels and platforms.
- The ability to forge strategic alliances with key partners who can extend and build brand and company relevance.
- A track record of new product development with strong marketing and communications skills.
Skills and Expertise:
- Bachelor's degree + MBA or Master's a plus from IIM
- 10+ years- experience with progressive sales and marketing in the E- commerce & FMCG industry is a must.
- Proven P&L management track record.
- Experience and success in preparing for, negotiating and closing sales.
- Business line management experience in launching new technology features, and scaling for growth and profitability.
- Expertise in defining and scaling sales and marketing processes, both internally and with external partners.
- Managing multiple verticals in a manner that focuses the team and drives results.
- Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team.
