About Function/Department :
- Results and Market Development represents the circulation arm of the organisation. The function begins from mail room packing and dispatch right up to delivering the newspaper to the reader. It is responsible for enabling more and better audience aggregation and for driving newer revenue streams from reader engagement.
- RMD's manpower strength is about 800+ and with our current growth agenda of new launches in existing and new markets, the function is poised to grow stronger. The team is geographically spread into as many as 28 regional branches. The branches are clustered into 4 zones, each of which is headed by a Zonal Head who is responsible for driving the zonal sales targets of the function.
- Keeping in mind the current Industry dynamics and increased competitor activities, the circulation business has become more customer centric and focussed in it's approach. 87% of our staff is in Frontline Sales and Operations verticals. We sell nearly 80 lakhs copies daily through our huge network of dealers and vendors, covering nearly all towns in an edition's area of distribution.
- RMD Newspaper in Education (NIE) introduces the concept of integrating newspaper readership with academic curriculum in schools and colleges. One of the main objective of NIE is to develop the habit of reading among school students.
- The programme spans across the country in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Ahmadabad, Jaipur, Nagur and Cochin. Times NIE has been acclaimed as the World's No.1 program and has been honoured with a series of prestigious international awards for youth engagement viz - India as World Young Reader Country of the Year Award 2013- by World Association of Newspapers (WAN). It was adjudged the best newspaper and youth program worldwide by WAN in 2006 and by INMA in 2008.
About the Position :
To promote and implement the Newspaper in Education (NIE) program in targeted schools (falling under defined geography) with a view to maximize student readership (future readers and decision makers), as well as generate advertising revenue for the brand.
Areas of Responsibility :
- To increase sales of the NIE edition among schools, and enrol new schools as per the assigned targets.
- Maintaining relations with customers - School Principals and Trustees - through regular interactions with them.
- Ensuring regular servicing of customers through smooth distribution, meeting commitments and troubleshooting.
- Generate ad revenues for the brand by partnering with corporates.
- Implementing marketing and promotional ideas suggested by superior.
- Carrying out various events involving schools to strengthen the brand.
- Keeping a strict control over receivables from school and report status periodically to superior.
- Ensuring completion of subscription forms by all students readers under NIE program for ABC compliance.
- Ensuring co-ordination and conduct of planned workshops in schools for students through hired consultants.
Educational Qualifications Required
- MBA or Post Graduate in any discipline
Relevant Experience :
1 to 3 years of experience in concept selling or in a service industry
