Assistant Sales Manager - Hotel (1-5 yrs)

Overview:

The hotel sales job involves promoting and selling the hotel's services and accommodations to potential customers, such as individual guests, corporate clients, event planners, and travel agencies. The role focuses on generating revenue by attracting new customers, retaining existing ones, and maximizing sales opportunities.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the hotel's facilities, room types, amenities, and services to effectively promote them to potential customers.

2. Identify and target key market segments, including corporate clients, group bookings, weddings, events, and leisure travelers.

3. Actively prospect for new business opportunities through various channels, such as cold calling, networking, attending trade shows, and building relationships with travel agencies and event planners.

4. Respond to inquiries from potential customers promptly and professionally, providing accurate information about room availability, rates, packages, and hotel amenities.

5. Conduct hotel tours and site visits to showcase the property's features, including guest rooms, event spaces, dining outlets, and recreational facilities.

6. Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and contracts tailored to the specific needs and requirements of each client.

7. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contractual agreements in collaboration with the hotel management or revenue team.

8. Maintain regular communication and build strong relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction, repeat business, and referrals.

9. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement promotional campaigns, digital marketing strategies, and sales collateral.

10. Keep up-to-date with market trends, competitor activities, and industry events to identify opportunities and adjust sales strategies accordingly.

11. Achieve or exceed sales targets, revenue goals, and occupancy rates as set by the hotel management.

12. Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales records, including client information, sales activities, and revenue reports.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience in hotel sales, preferably in a similar position or within the hospitality industry.

2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and effectively communicate with clients.

3. Strong negotiation and persuasive abilities to close deals and secure profitable contracts.

4. In-depth knowledge of the local market, industry trends, and customer preferences.

5. Familiarity with hotel revenue management practices and the ability to optimize pricing and yield strategies.

6. Proficient in using sales software, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and other relevant tools.

7. Results-driven with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

8. Exceptional organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

9. Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required in the hospitality industry.

10. A bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business, marketing, or a related field is preferred but not always mandatory.
