Area Sales Manager - Liquor (5-11 yrs)
Opportunity with a leading Luxury Liquor sales organisation across the Globe.
Job description :
As an Area Sales Manager, your role is to achieve business objectives & agreed sales budget for your specific territory whilst understanding and embracing the strategic imperatives in your day to day business. The core focus in respect of this position is to continue to grow the key accounts of the business across the entire brand portfolio. Furthermore you are responsible for enhancing culture and contributing to the overall success of your direct team and that of the entire business.
Responsibilities include :
Category Leadership :
- Achieve mutually agreed monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets set by the Regional Sales Manager
- Achieve mutually agreed points of distribution of brands focusing on visibility and placement
- Maintain, develop & grow distribution points in all key accounts in order to expand business opportunities
Achieve Industry sales force leadership :
- Target sales and marketing activities to ensure maximum ROI
- Attain and maintain the highest standards of service provided to trade customers and develop relationships at all levels within the customers- business
Make brands available & accessible :
- Develop and implement brand specific activities within accounts
- Ensure that brand merchandising standards are achieved at all times utilizing developed POS and via creative enhancements - provide photographic evidence
Competitor Information :
- Monitor competitor activity/dealing/pricing and promotions within territory and provide feedback to the sales and marketing teams
Promotion :
- Recommend new venues for promotions and ensure that incremental business support is gained upon the venues being selected
- Ensure all promotional activity is carried out efficiently and effectively within budgeted parameters and within the respective brands- standard guidelines
- Work closely with marketing team to evaluate methods of improving the effectiveness and operational efficiencies of promotional activities - provide all aspects of feedback
Credit & Payment Collections :
- Monitor the financial status of each assigned account within your specific territory and alert the Regional Sales Manager and National Credit Manager of any concerns in order to minimize the incidence of bad debts
Required Experience & Skills :
- 5-8 years of sales experience in the Hospitality industry.
- Graduate or equivalent academic qualification
- A high degree of personal presence with good networking, influencing, negotiation and communication skills
- A strong exposure to key accounts management will be a strong advantage
- Excellent proven sales skills
- Good knowledge of wines & spirits will be a distinct advantage
- Highly motivated and result oriented
- Team player but can work autonomously
- Appreciation & understanding of luxury goods market
