Area Sales Manager - FMCG (7-12 yrs)
Responsible for supervising and driving sales team in the assigned region
- Working closely with National Sales head to drive monthly objectives
- Tracking productivity of team and ensuring no one is sitting idle
- Meets or exceeds sales targets and goals as agreed initially with Sales head
- Setting up distribution network in city and ensuring no distribution gaps
- Managing large retailers that contribute disproportionately to sales
- Driving offers and schemes in market basis budget assigned for the month
- Servicing existing retailers and working closely / driving distributors
- Identifying opportunities of growth - apartment campaign, corporate campaign, retailer mela, kiosk activity etc.
Passing these to marketing team to execute.
- Managing team and ensuring people are happy, motivated and aligned with top management
- Creating and sharing weekly / monthly / quarterly reports and analyse the same to understand opportunities
- Recruiting and training sales staff and distributors wherever required.
- Keeping up to date with competition products and other products in related categories
- Building a team and culture that can deliver long term and short term goals
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Bachelors degree and overall min 10 years experience
- 5+ years of prior experience in a Retail FMCG role
- Currently in an ASM role / Senior Sales Officer
- Street smart person with strong relationship building skills
- Ability to drive and motivate team of individuals in their language.
Planning and organisational skills
- Good communication skills with top management and reportees
- Strong integrity and maturity to exercise confidentiality
- Understanding of the food and food retail sector a plus, but not a necessity
- Willingness to hustle and work in a nimble but fast paced young organisation
