Area Sales Manager - FMCG (5-15 yrs)
Key Responsibilities :
Sales and Distribution :
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve the company's distribution goals in Assam and the Northeast states.
- Manage and expand the customer base, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Oversee the distribution network, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products to retailers and wholesalers.
Team Management :
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of sales representatives and distribution staff.
- Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of the team.
- Set performance targets for the team and monitor progress to ensure targets are met.
Market Analysis :
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and stay updated on market trends and competitor activities.
- Analyze sales data to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to address any issues.
Relationship Management :
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and stakeholders.
- Address any customer complaints or issues promptly and effectively.
Operational Efficiency :
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Implement cost-saving measures to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
Reporting :
- Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and other relevant metrics for senior management.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve overall business performance.
Qualifications and Skills :
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and distribution, preferably in the tea or FMCG industry.
- Proven track record of managing and leading a sales team.
- Strong understanding of the tea market in Assam and the Northeast states.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed business decisions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the region.
