Area Sales Executive/Manager - Agri (3-8 yrs)
The main objective of the position is to support the sales and marketing function of the company with an aim to meet the business plan and objectives. The incumbent shall be required to develop strong relationship with various farmer organisations and set-up a robust network of distributors in order to achieve deep penetration of the company's products and services and meet the sales and cost budgets.
1. Develop Regional sales and marketing plan
a. Develop Regional sales & marketing plan aligned with the Long Term Business Plan of the Company to meet the revenue and profit targets set for the business by the Board.
b. Building a sales channel for the Company's products in relevant markets in India to sell seeds. Establish good practices for dealing with the trade partners such that they achieve good Return on Investment while dealing with the Company's products.
2. Channel development
a. Identify potential channel partners
b. Define appropriate trade processes and company's norms for the appointment of channel partners
c. Design discount and trade promotion schemes with budgets and adhere to committed costs and outputs
d. Ensure timely settlement of trade claims and ensure prompt resolution of any disputes
e. Develop channel partner appointment plan and ensure execution
3. Sales budget
a. Prepare sales budget for the region with details of sales of each variety of potato seeds and each district.
b. Prepare sales targets for each channel partner
c. Ensure achievement of sales budget for the region
4. Government Tenders
a. Track issuance of tenders for procurement of potato seeds by the Government
b. Ensure participation in tenders by timely submission with all necessary documents and fees.
c. Coordinate with relevant Government departments for obtaining contract for supply of seeds.
5. Detailed mapping of the market of potato seeds
a. Develop detailed knowledge of the identified markets including tonnage of potato seeds sold, variety of potato seed, competition, prices and prevalent practices.
b. Develop Regional sales strategy based on existing conditions
c. Obtain detailed data related to trade practices, discounts, schemes etc
d. Track and obtain market price of potato seeds and other agricultural input materials
6. Monitoring and reporting
a. Prepare monthly sales report with details of sales, competitive situation, actions taken and proposed and outlook for the subsequent month. Ensure that sales report is submitted to HO by the 3rd of each month.
7. Coordination
a. Coordinate with channel partners for identifying farmers for sales of seeds and services
b. Coordinate with farm management team for timely supply of seeds to channel partners, farmers and Govt. Tenders.
c. Coordinate with farm management team for market feedback of company's own products and development trends
d. Coordinate with farm management team for visit by members of the farming community to development farms
e. Coordinate with HO for pricing norms of products by obtaining accurate data on market prices of potato seeds.
f. Coordinating with logistics team for timely supply of seeds.
Desired Skills and Experience
1. At least 2-3 years of experience in potato seed industry (Desirable with total experience of 5-8 years)
2. Experience in managing sales, dealers and distributors and having track record of achieving sales targets
3. Experience in executing sales strategy
4. Willingness to learn
5. Work under pressure and in a competitive environment.
6. Qualification - Bachelor in Agriculture or Any Equivalent
