Area Sales/Business Manager - Rural Sales - Solar (5-10 yrs)
We are having Urgent job openings for Area Sales/ Business Manager in Sitapur, Lakhimpur Kheri & Hardoi location.
Overview and Purpose
The organisation seeks an experienced rural sales professional to lead its growth across Uttar Pradesh (West). The Area Manager will be responsible for raising and managing direct sales team of Urja Mitras with the help of a team of Rural Sales Associates. Urja Mitras are village level entrepreneurs engaged in identifying and closing customers for the financed, high quality solar home lighting systems of the organisation.
The Area Sales Manager has overall responsibility for the successful channel management of organisation's Urja Mitras, and the associated portfolio of customers that have purchased solar home light systems on through its financing model. The Area Sales Manager should have in-depth understanding of functioning of large scale commission-based direct sales agents akin to insurance. The Area Manager should also have a detailed understanding of the designated area of rural operations, including customer occupation, typical repayment patterns, external influences, and customer behaviour of area assigned to him.
The Area Sales Manager will be a lead member of the Sales and Operations team at the organisation, reporting to Organisations Regional Manager, Sales and Distribution.
Role Description
The role has overall responsibility of achieving business targets assigned to his area. He will also have overall responsibility for the superior repayment performance of a portfolio of customers created under his leadership in the area assigned to him
To assess suitability of village/ village cluster for initiating business;
Develop a sales and service plan for the area for a 18 month horizon;
Recruit and manage a team of RSA in the allocated territories;
Train RSA's on sales process to ensure they are effectively performing on the field
Start business in an area;
Recruit UM and make him productive;
Manage UM on an ongoing basis to keep him productive;
Understand and track key sales (e.g. leads, FR) and business (e.g. DBS) metrics
Support RSA's on the field in above activities to make them effective;
Monitor day-to-day field movement of RSA's to ensure optimal coverage of territory;
Develop and execute a monthly sales plan;
To act as first level of quality check for all the customer applications hitting area office from his designated territory;
Manage a team of CRO's in the allocated territories;
Support CRO's in effective service management resulting into optimal service delivery
Support CRO and CRA in service delivery by
Defining preventive visit schedules
Ensuring preventive schedules are adhered
Field visits to customers along with CRO for on job training
Field visits for technical issue resolution
Field audits for SOP's adherence and process improvement suggestions
Optimising installation methods and inventory usage
Suggesting best practises in the team
To ensure target recharge collection through CRA
Support other employees of the company to resolve customer problems in the local area like Payment Collection, generating payment points/recharge agents etc.
Report progress to reporting manager at prescribed intervals
Desired Profile
The successful applicant should have a sales background or if from Micro-finance Industry should have experience of micro-finance operations. The applicant should be self-motivated and effective in a team environment under a high work load with multiple responsibilities.
Educational qualifications, Experience
Age range: 28-35 years
Graduation: Any Graduate
PG: MBA, preferably in Rural Management
Relevant Experience: 6+ years of rural microfinance, banking, insurance, Agri input or agri implements, solar energy or rural sales and marketing experience
Skills required
Ability to manage multiple projects within a dynamic environment with a high level of urgency without compromising productivity;
Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships across the technical and corporate teams, in order to facilitate feedback and enhance implementation;
Ability to constantly solicit feedback from field and technical teams and make necessary changes and adjustments;
Demonstrated leadership, networking and negotiation skills.
Ability to travel extensively (up to 60%) and work flexible hours
Travel reimbursements linked to UM/ customer visits
