Job Overview:
As an Admission Counselor at Taurian World School, your primary responsibility is to facilitate the admission process and serve as a guide for prospective students and their families. This role involves assessing applicant qualifications, providing information about the school's programs and offerings, and ensuring a smooth transition for admitted students into the boarding school community.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prospective Student Interaction:
- Communicate with prospective students and their families to provide information about the school's mission, values, academic programs, and extracurricular activities.
- Conduct campus tours and coordinate shadow days for prospective students to showcase the boarding school experience.
2. Admissions Process Management:
- Review and evaluate student applications, ensuring all required documents and information are submitted.
- Collaborate with the admissions committee to assess applicant qualifications and make informed admission decisions.
- Communicate admission decisions to applicants and provide feedback when necessary.
3. Relationship Building:
- Foster positive relationships with feeder schools, educational consultants, and other stakeholders to increase awareness and interest in the boarding school.
- Attend relevant educational fairs, conferences, and events to represent the school and engage with potential applicants.
4. Counseling and Support:
- Offer guidance to students and their families throughout the application process, addressing concerns and providing support as needed.
- Collaborate with academic advisors and other school staff to ensure a smooth transition for admitted students.
5. Data Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all prospective and admitted students.
- Generate reports and analyze data to assess enrollment trends, identify areas for improvement, and inform strategic decision-making.
6. Admissions Events Coordination:
- Plan and execute admissions events, such as open houses, information sessions, and interviews.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure the successful execution of events and activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (education, counseling, etc.)
- Previous experience in admissions, counseling, or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of the boarding school environment and the ability to convey its unique benefits.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Familiarity with relevant software and databases for managing admissions processes.
